Mime!

The "Queen" was an English rock band formed in 1970 in London. Popular songs include: We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, Love of My Life, Don't Stop Me Now, Under Pressure and Bohemian Rhapsody. It was the musical theme of our mime presentation in Presentations Skills in IT; another chapter of our countless non-verbal communication activities. The songs used were "Love of My Life," and "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen and our favorite song "How Deep Is Your Love" by Bee Gees. 

The preparation was very tough. We undergo a "therapy" so we'll be able to express the emotions of good amateur mime artists. It includes laughing to the fullest for three seconds, then a make face that looks like you're the loneliest person in the world. But despite of having a hard time for the training, we enjoyed spending most of our time in Rudolph's house. Sadly, Jemae was not able to attend. But he went early in the morning, so he could catch up the choreo and have our final practice. 

The other groups were good. Others presented a classical mime, a black and white theme without any sound to be heard. Others showed modern day mime, with colorful costumes and cute sound effects to amaze the audience. But then, we were so happy. One thing that makes us proud, our professor did not mention his deadly expression: "Anung nangyare?" Nah! He just cracked a joke on us and asked what type of drugs we intake. For having such an extreme energy level, he already thought we were possessed by evil spirits. Haha! Thank God. We are also required to produce a video of the presentation, to be uploaded on YouTube, so we'll be having a shooting again... Another cosack!!

Drunk!

Drunkenness = the state of being intoxicated by consumption of alcoholic beverages to a degree that mental and physical faculties are noticeably impaired and tilted. Common symptoms are:

1. slurred speech

2. impaired balance

3. poor coordination

4. flushed face

5. redness of the eyes

 and sometimes:

6. verbal expression of unwanted thoughts

7. giving away lots of money (as much as P200)

8. pouring a cup coffee and being unaware of it's hotness

9. crossing the street, unafraid of being bumped

Possible effects may be:

1. temporary experience of wide range emotions:

2 anger, 

3. sadness,

4. depression to euphoria

5. lightheartedness

6. sexual disinhibition

and sometimes:

7. if she's a woman, boyfriend may cut his classes

7a. her boyfriend's friend may also cut classes

8. if he's a boy, he'll probably think not to drink again

9. he might be afraid of evidences of him being "drunk" for the very first time

10. he might also tell himself he's now a better  man than before... =)

Film Showing: Mission Accomplish

Finally! Film showing's done and everything's alright now. February 2, 2009. It was our red carpet premiere. It's really nice; although I accidentaly forgot our group's copy of the films "Grados" and "Vicente Cruz St." Thank God! Professor Zaldy San Pedro agreed to lend us his personal copy of our film to be shown. It was so hard to make him agree. But we know, he's a kindhearted person, so alas! We already thought we would not be able to present the fruits of our blood and sweat, but then, we were able to show the whole class how good we were. We really thank everyone who watched the films. The other group's movies were also great. Mel was a good ghost. She terrified almost everyone in the class. 

Our group was really glad, we made it at last. We're proud of what we have made and we would really love to shoot another extraordinary film again! Uh oh! I forgot. We should prepare for the next activity... Being mime artists for the next couple of days.

Grados...

It's a short film shot in our house at Makati, with the special aid from mamita (thx mamita!). Approximately, the shooting time was only an hour. We had the deadliest and most extravagant time pressure of our lives. Angelo directed the film, and by the time they were making their shots, I was editing our first movie, "Vicente Cruz St." We decided to put the video into black and white format, so we could showcase a classical drama effect for the said film. We enjoyed filming this, although we were not given the best time to take, we're proud that we have already produced a quality film (as for myself). Our neighbors were sneaking the shooting event, and they observed what my groupmates were doing. They also thought that we were having a real fight, which was included for the filming purposes. 

The story was about two brothers, namely, David Garcia and Deybid Garcia. David got a grade of A+, while Deybid got F- in school. They showed their grades to their father after coming home, and as what they have expected, their father blamed Deybid about his grades. He was punished and treated as if he was a bastard. Then a day after, while David was walking on the street, a gangster played a trick on him. He was helpless when suddenly, his brother, Deybid saw what was happening. So he helped his brother, but unfortunately, he did not defeat the bad guy. So they went home, father realized how he really love his sons. They rekindled their relationships and found the real meaning of being a family, despite of not having their mother.

The Sampaloc Hanger Massacre!!!

At last! I have already uploaded "The Sampaloc Hanger Massacre" real life comics. It was a project for our presentation skills in IT, so we would be able to enhance our facial expression, camera projection, and photography skills. We chose a thrilling and psychotic theme, and we really enjoyed photo shooting. It's funny, especially when we haunt for the serial killer's costume. We were once ball kicking on the roof top of Robert's apartment, when we finally realized a good theme for our comics, could possibly be about serial killers and masochism. Thanks for the appearance of a hanger, we created a deadly weapon for our serial killer (also called: Lord Mon Mon's Battle Hanger) Fortunately, we saw a cool whig, so Robert could portray his role very much. He's a natural born serial killer and he's really expert in blood and murder so it was not that hard for us to shoot ass kicking pictures for the comic project. After the shoot, editing came. I admit, I don't have those excellent graphical skills but with the help of Yoyong, we made our comics as if it was already published for National Bookstore. By the way, we are planning to create an inspired short indie film out of the idea so watch out! Congratulations to our group, once again, Spermatics!

Spermatics: on it's first commercial...

McDonald's released it's latest commercial ad: "First Love" featuring the song "Ang Huling El Bimbo" by Eraserheads. It's funny, how the kids act, and of course, the artists were great. As a partial fulfillment for the requirements in our Presentation Skills in IT subject, our group, also called "Spermatics" created a spoof version of the said commercial ad. We made our shooting at McDonald's SM Manila and it was awesome! I acted as the over all director, a part time cameraman and I also played two roles as one of the fathers and the new husband. We rearranged the idea: the two friends from the original ad became two gay guys, in loved with each other from the time they met at McDonald's together with their mom-turned-dad, until the time has come that the other man has his own husband already (It's up to you if you think they had their same sex marriage in Las Vegas). The spoof ended up with the music "Single Ladies" by Beyonce Knowles, it's funny because we all sang the song while we're in school and as we heard and saw the final video, we laughed and screamed as if there's no tomorrow. An infinite thanks to my best friend IJ, who accepted the role as one of the kids together with Jeremie. And of course, my congratulations to Limbog, Bert and Rudolf... Yeah! Spermatics!
