Battle of Soda Crackers

A saltine or soda cracker is a thin, usually square cracker made from white flour, shortening, yeast and baking soda with most varieties lightly sprinkled with coarse salt. It has perforations throughout its surface, to allow steam to escape for uniform rising, and along the edges, as individual crackers are broken from larger sheets during manufacture. It has a very dry and crisp texture, as it is made with less shortening. - from Wikipedia
Yesterday, I've changed the blog background layout. It looks like soda crackers, and some said that they feel hungry whenever they visit my blog. So why don't we talk about soda crackers? Well we usually eat some when we feel a little hungry. Also when we don't have enough time to prepare for a heavy food, we grab soda crackers on the sari-sari stores right? My classmates usually bring one, as a substitute for breakfast. It's really cheap and good. Usually, it does not require you to drink water after eating, because it does not taste very sweet or salty.
What soda cracker do you usually eat? Here are some of the available brands in the Philippines:
Brand Name: Sky Flakes
Manufacturer: Monde M.Y. San
Manufacturer's Description: "A snack, a lighmeal alternative, a travel companion, diet food and a lot more."

I tried this one, it's one of the oldest brands here in the Philippines and up to now, my mom looks for this in the supermarket.

Brand Name: Magic Flakes
Manufacturer: Universal Robina
Manufacturer's Description: "High-quality, crispy and tasty soda crackers with a lighty flaky texture"

I love the peanut butter flavoured variant of this product. But the soda crackers, never tasted it.

Brand Name: Blue Skies
Manufacturer: First Choice Food Corporation
Manufacturer's Description: "Crisp, tasty, premium crackers. Very affordable. The right snack for the on-the-go consumers!"

Well, the spring onion flavor is good. Currently, you can see a lot of this on our ref.

Brand Name: Rebisco Crackers
Manufacturer: Rebisco Group
Manufacturer's Description: Big in size, big in taste plain cracker. It has six perforations that can be turned into crunchy and meaty bite-size pieces.

Ahaha! Never tasted this before. But it's famous because of the endorsement made by Michael V.

What's your soda cracker?

Ako natikman ko na yan lahat, Kung pagiging plain ang usapan, number one ang Skyflakes at pangalawa ang Rebisco.

Kung me palaman o flavor number one ang magic flakes at pangalawa ang bluskies.

Kung papalamanan ng bagoong, skyflakes ang number one and the only one, haha.. :D

Favorite ko ang bagoong na pinalaman o pinatong sa skyflakes.

Try mo tol. :D

Ahaha, well I like Marie, but when it comes to soda crackers, I choose Sky Flakes. Yeah JD, its still the number 1. Haha. Btw, ACRYLIQUE, hindi naman sa may sakit lang! Minsan na sasalba ang buhay namin ng skyflakes dahil sa mga pamatay na professors na ayaw mag palabas on time! Hehe.

We don't have any of those brands here in the states as far as I know. My favorite has always been Export Sodas, comes in a big round green can. I remember as a kid I used to put pile of Cheese Whiz on them and eat like half the can. mmmm mmm mmmm good stuff

Here in the Philippines there used to be another brand--Cracker Jack is the brand name. I remember it to be tasty and crisp but more oily than Skyflakes.

I prefer blue skies. Smooth and crunchy. Hindi sya nakakauhaw gaya ng iba. Also it comes in savory flavors. I miss this kasi wala na ako mabili na ganyan dito, kaya back to sky flakes ako. I like to buy if i found one online. Pag may filling i prefer rebisco choco
