Every day when I go to school, I step out of the doorsteps, ride a jeep and walk in minutes to go to EDSA-LRT station, Pasay City, Philippines. I usually ride the train to go to school and before I climb up the stairs of the Metropoint mall, I don't know if I'm going to call myself lucky or whatsoever when I encounter different road incidents ranging from theft, car and motor accidents, and most of all: pedestrians being hit by motorized vehicles. It's really a sore in the eyes, when I see people being hit by cars and motorcycles. Even though I am a big fan of violent movies that showcases blood and death, it's still disgusting to see a guy full of blood, seizing and struggling to death. I can't help but wonder why jaywalking occurs. Well, I guess everybody becomes a reckless pedestrian even once in their entire life. On our way home from school, me and my friends usually enjoy crossing the highway even if it is not allowed to. We usually laugh and have fun after successfully crossing the highway without even using the correct procedure by the means of going through the underpass.
Well basically, anyone who has the sense of sight can see the pink signage posted by the MMDA (even when you are colourblind). Mostly, the sign says: "Danger No Crossing."
But I guess, everyone doesn't think of what might happen. The risks of jaywalking: pain, blood, broken bones, and uh oh! Death! Believe me! It's really true! Sometimes, we risk our lives just to save a little time instead of using the overpass/underpass. We disregard what the government says, and we love to ignore laws and policies. If it's hard for us, the citizens, to obey rules, what more to those who implement the rules? Imagine what they feel when they discover people offend the law, when they only try their best just to inform us for our own safety? They even give efforts to tell us everything that is surely beneficial to us. But instead, we take it for granted and go on our own way. How sad!
So how about this one?
I can't help but laugh all the way, when I see this photo. Imagine what might Metro Manila roads look like, when the pink signage of the MMDA transforms from the simple "Danger No Crossing" sign to the disturbing "Go on Motherfucker, Cross." Ahaha! Well I guess, this is effective to kids. I know children are scared of their parents when they hear them speak foul words. Or probably not. What do you think? Is there any difference among the two? Which is better to use and what is the best solution for jaywalking in the Philippines? Cool eh?
ksm :))

base. base! first ba ako. patambay muna sa blog mo ah.
I don't want to be judgmental or anything but lots of Pinoys are sobrang irresponsible. You build a foot bridge for them they'd still gamble their lives and cross over the fence to the other side of the road.
Oh well, dapat jan binabaril... parang yung isang online game an gun the ducks down:-D hahahah
Oh well... ganun talaga. You can't teach old dogs new tricks... especially pag askal :-D hahahahah
Well, thanks Poot. Well, uu nga. Natatawa tlga ko dun sa pic. Shineyr sya ng isa kong friend. Si PETE. ahaha. Pero cool talaga pag linagay yan. Pramis
@Green Man - uu nga eh, I actually done the same thing. How about you? Have you done jaywalking? Uh oh no cheating! hehe..
may sign na ganun talaga?
haha. kakatakot tumawid. may nagmumura.
pero tumatawid pa rin ako. hehe
Okay, I am guilty of this jaywalking shiz. We can't blame the MMDA. Hindi naman kasi sila nanghuhuli eh. :)) I mean, I remember my mom telling me na nahuli siya ng chocolate boys before sa pagjajaywalking. =))
Ehehe, anu ung chocolate boys? Wala pa namang sign na ganun. Ewan ko kung ni edit lang iyon. Pero cute nga eh. Hehe. =)
Benta :P Lahat ng Jaywalkers nean mahihiyang tumawid... aba naman...Ang kapal na ng mukha ng taong ddedmahin yang sign na yan..hahaha...pero seriously...should our local govenrnment have to go this far to just to teach other "thick headed people" the word NOT or DONT? mejo disturbing lang.

(justkidding*hehe*)
nyc post
Ahaha, tama!
What can we do? sadyang matitigas ang mga ulo ng karamihan sa atin.
You need to play patintero with all the cars and vehicles there. Buti wlang naaaksidente or namamatay. Wala ring signs na bawal tumawid or something. Anyways if you really are in a hurry, you'll choose to use that way, instead of crossing in the pedestrian lane s likod ng babaan ng LRT. :))
I cant help but laugh out loud when I read the "Put*ng ina sige tumawid ka" sign. HAHAHA. Can't imagine the streets with such things. LOL.
Kyut nga talaga, though I am not sure if it's for real, or a product of technology. Hehe, sa amin din. From Intramuros papunta kaming City Hall, we should use underpass but instead, we ran sa gitna mismo ngn highway. With matching tawanan ng malakas. Fortunately, no one died. =)
Ahaha, panu ba pakiramdam ng masagasaan?
We have the same problem out here in Las Vegas...The crosswalks are so far appart that it can add 15 minutes to your walk to cross on one...not that that makes it any better.
It is a huge problem here in New York as well, we just don't hear about it on the news as much. I feel the same way about the movies and violence. I like violent and meaningless explosions and death in a movie, but I wouldn't want to see it in my everyday life.
loooove it
